Tie Dye and everthing else!
We tie dyed t-shirts today, using Dharma Trading Company's wonderful kit
My husband came to help, and showed Jackie how to do shadow play.
Tomoko (Director of CCAE Education Dept) and Lorena (wonderful volunteer) even had a chance to tie dye t-shirts.

Sand Castle construction
Last week Loreno showed the kids how to create a storyboard, and then photographed their clay figures and created animated films of the kids work. We watched the films and applauded wildly!
Teen volunteer Monica helped teen volunteer Jonathan, with a math problem, I think.
We had airplane races
And we even had time to hang out. All within 2 hours on a Thursday afternoon!

Printmaking!
We had a great time printmaking! the kids created their own stamps from sticky back foam and stamped them on watercolor paper. Then they created a second stamp by incising into stryrofoam, and over printed with it on the same paper. And then they made some more prints in various combinations.
This one is mine. The printed watercolor paper on the left, the incised styrofoam and sticky back foam stamps on the right. |
