Tree of Life

Since there was no class on Tuesday, I invited the Tuesday kids to join us on Thursday for class. We had 11 kids. We did one of my favorite lessons, inspired by Klimt, that I call the Tree of Life. I showed the kids images of Klimt's work, talked about patterns and color, and asked them to draw a tree, and fill it with pattern. We worked with oil pastels and watercolor.

Tuesday's kids! VIDEO!!

videoEight kids today. The group broke out in spontaneous song! While we made boxes from paper and then collaged and decorated the outsides of the boxes. I encouraged the kids to make a gift certificate for some chore, or kindness, to gift as a gift to their parents and place inside the box.
