Rabbits! from cardboard and plaster cloth

Since it was spring break, someone locked our gates by mistake.
This little sister was able to squeeze though the bars
and let the other kids in! Our hero!

Me, showing them how to draw out the shape of the rabbit on cardboard.

The kids did great on this project! Drawing on the cardboard and then cutting out the shapes. They totally got the 3 dimensional part, and understood how to make their rabbits stand alone.

Step one. Cut and glue the rabbit. Let dry.

Step two, use plaster cloth, dip it into water, and smooth it over the shape.

Set the sculptures out in the sun to dry. They dry pretty quickly, and we painted them when they were still cold to the touch.

Painting eggs

The kids painted plastic eggs (I'd sprayed them with gesso first). Then, we glued the eggs to a plastic paint palette, like a wreath or picture frame or a dish for candy.

She'd broken one of the plastic eggs, so she used it as a shell
for a chick to pop out of!
