Adinkra Symbols of West Africa

Ten kids today. We used grocery store paper bags for our surface, and they selected the symbols they wanted to depict from this cool handout of Andinkra Symbols. They drew them in pencil, then marker, then oil pastels. Then we crinkled the paper up and ironed it to make it look old.

another good project idea...i like the idea of not racing against the clock as we do in our class....everyone seems relaxed here.
