Robots. One of my personal faves. I ask the kids to think about what kind of things their robots would do for them, and then to design a robot with those 'skills.'

I found these cardboard robots at a craft store and just couldn't resist. The kids traced them, then made them their own.
We also had some little frames. They designed their frame on paper first, then colored them, and if they were going to give it as a gift, we had a gift wrap station too.

I love the robot project! I had not seen this one before--it looks like so much fun, and of course, so creative for the kids!
