Scratch board

My wonderful friend, Susie Clark, came to help Marcy and I. It was Susie who showed me the idea for this project using gold and silver scratch board

The kids drew out their designs on paper first, doing a face/mask and a border.

They placed the paper drawing over the scratch board, and with a ball point pen, traced the image onto the scratch board. Then, with a sharp pointed dip pen (with no ink) they scratched in the design.

It was focused, concentrated work, so the last 15 minutes, they really enjoyed running around our back garden area!
